When Poman Lo founded AlphaTrio Capital in 2022, she didn't set out to make a name for herself.
Instead, the Hong Kong billionaire founded the sustainable technology fund to focus on projects that "do well by doing good," she tells the South China Morning Post.
One of those projects was the installation of water filtration systems at the Regal Hotels Group's hotels, which are located in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
"By installing this water filtration, we can actually put it to good use in our own hotel operations, and most importantly, we are able to actually put it to good use in our own hotel operations, and most importantly, we can actually put it to good use in our own home markets," says Lo, whose family's investment in the system is estimated to have a return of 22.3% over a two-year period, per AsianInvestor.
"I am a keen believer in impact investing, I believe that it should become mainstream eventually, if we actually do want to save the planet," says Lo, who also serves on the board of AlphaTrio Capital's parent company, Hong Kong-based AlphaOne Private Equity.
She tells the Morning Post that the water filtration system was developed at Stanford University,
