Free Transportation From Anywhere in the Mississippi Delta to a Vaccination Location

In light of the increased prevalence of the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi highlighted its free transportation initiative.

In partnership with Pam Chatman, of Cleveland, Mississippi, and Rev. Frederick Ford with the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland the first of its kind initiative in the Mississippi Delta is breaking down barriers to vaccine access.

Chatman, who started a Workforce Transportation Initiative (WTI) in the Mississippi Delta in 2018, which has been a huge success providing high paying jobs with benefits to residents who travel two hours each way via bus to work in Olive Branch for FedEx. Her expertise in transportation is now being tapped for COVID-19 vaccinations. Read the Entire Article
