Winning the Innovation War on Cybersecurity

If you're a bank customer in Spain, you're in for a treat: For the first time, you'll be able to withdraw money from a bank account using an app that uses artificial intelligence, the BBC reports.

The CaixaBank app, which was developed in partnership with the University of La Salle and runs on Apple's Safari browser, will allow customers to withdraw money from a CaixaBank account using the app's built-in AI wallet, per a press release.

Customers will also be able to withdraw money from other CaixaBank accounts using the same app.

The app's creators say it will help the bank "stay one step ahead of cybercriminals" by using AI to "search for vast amounts of data, spot patterns, and predict potential threats," per the press release.

"By continually reviewing existing controls, conducting ongoing risk analysis, and adapting to new developments, we are ensuring that our security infrastructure is robust and resistant to fast-evolving threats," the bank's head of cybersecurity says.

CaixaBank's app isn't the only one taking advantage of AI.
