When it comes to getting a driver's license in the US, there's a lot of red tape.

In fact, more than half of the country's DMV offices are still manual, according to a new report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

And that's not even mentioning the DMV's new automated system that's supposed to make the process 10 times faster, the Washington Post reports.

According to the report, which looked at DMV processes in the US, Canada, Denmark, and the UK, the average time it takes to get a driver's license has nearly doubled in the past five years.

And that's not even counting the DMV's new automated driver's license application process, which the Post reports can issue a driver's license in as little as five minutes.
