Legacy Announces $25000 in Nonprofit Grants

The Legacy Foundation in Ottumwa, Iowa, is putting its money where its mouth is.

The nonprofit has awarded $25,000 in grants to six local nonprofits, including $10,000 to the Cardinal Youth Foundation to help with youth development and $15,000 to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition to translate patient guides to Spanish, the Ottumwa Courier reports.

"All grant proposals submitted to the Legacy Youth Alliance must be for a youth-led project or a youth-serving program," the foundation said in a press release.

"Funding priorities of the Legacy Youth Alliance are impactful projects that address literacy, reading proficiency, post-secondary education, and physical, mental, or social wellness."
