There's a huge market for bio-based products, and it's only a matter of time before the world starts using them in a big way, according to a new report from the Environmental Working Group.
The report focuses on the bioeconomy, which "embodies an economic model that integrates biological resources...
into various industries to produce an array of bio-based products and services," including bioenergy, bioplastics, and biofuels.
It notes that the bioeconomy "has the potential to play a vital role in both economic and environmental sustainability," and that it "supports a more resilient and flexible economy by fostering the development of bio-based products and energy."
