It's not every day you see a woman named Mallika B on a Fortune list, but that's exactly what's happened to the Indian engineer.
Business Insider reports Mallika B is on the list of the world's most influential women in business.
She's the Quality Manager at Elgi Equipments, a compressed-air manufacturer in India.
She's also the only woman on the list who's worked at Elgi Equipments, which has been in the business for 64 years.
"She honed her expertise, became a stalwart advocate for work-life balance, and championed the cause of gender equality in leadership positions," Elgi Equipments states on its website.
Mallika got her degree in Instrumentation Engineering from an Indian college and went on to work at Elgi Equipments for 19 years.
"My passion for exploring cutting-edge measurement technologies was ignited by my background in instrumentation engineering, guiding me towards a fulfilling career in engineering," she tells Fortune.
"Every challenge was an opportunity to grow, to enhance my skills, and to further cement my place in the engineering field, continually pushing the boundaries of quality and innovation in her work."
