Social Impact Groups Bolster Leadership

One of Australia's most high-profile business leaders is leaving his post at the Australian Securities Exchange to lead the country's largest anti-slavery organization.

David Braga, who has worked at JP Morgan, BNP Paribas Securities Services, and Bankers Trust over the past three decades, will take over as CEO of the International Justice Mission, which aims to end slavery and exploitation around the world, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

"I had the privilege of getting to know David Braga throughout the selection process, and I am confident that his career experience, not-for-profit engagement, and strategic approach make him a perfect fit for leading IJM Australia," Lindsay McMillan, the board chair of the organization, said in a statement.

Braga, who will take over a four-year term in July, said in a statement that ending slavery "is an opportunity to bring protection to millions of people and further engage Australians in the vital work of ending slavery in our lifetime."

The IJM, which has offices in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, is the world's largest anti-slavery organization, and McMillan said in a statement that he hopes Braga's experience will help the group "continue to grow Australia's global leadership and investment in ending slavery and exploitation of Read the Entire Article
