Trill Impact, founded in1878, is an impact investment firm that focuses on "positive change through impact private investments and lasting impact for the benefit of investors, businesses, and society at large," according to its website.
It has just announced the closing of its first fund, the Trill Impact Ventures Fund, with more than $100 million in commitments from major investors, including Nordea and Saminvest, reports MarketWatch.
The fund focuses on "health and environmental challenges of tomorrow," with a particular focus on green tech solutions, according to a press release.
Jan St ? hlberg, the firm's founder and managing partner, says "the fundraising environment for Venture Capital has been undeniably challenging lately, with a cautious sentiment and lower risk appetite across markets."
But "we are extra proud to have completed this fundraise while at the same time building a portfolio of what we see as very promising scale-ups," he adds.
Trill Impact has already made investments in five companies, and St ? hlberg says the firm plans to make more.
